Job Description

 

Your Team

To assist the VP of Operations, Senior Director of Land and other members of the development team with a variety land development and home building related processes in a complex business environment.

 

Your Key Deliverables

  • Responsible for coordination and support for the development team to ensure the successful completion of projects in accordance with the business plan
  • Assist with facilitating solutions to contract related matters
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all builder contracts including details of contract terms
  • Coordinate with attorney for builder contract execution and amendments.
  • Monitor builder contract terms and work with VP, Director of Land, transaction attorney and closing coordinator to enforce compliance
  • Coordinate pre-closing and post construction lot inspections with Project Manager and builder representatives.
  • Create and maintain builder contract recordkeeping system.
  • Monitor and coordinate all builder lot closings with assistance from transaction attorney and closing coordinator
  • Coordinate team input and draft Bi-Weekly Flash Reports; Monthly Operating Highlight Reports (“MOH”); Monthly Project Management Meeting presentations and other corporate reports on an as needed basis.
  • Assists in preparing various presentations, reports and events as needed
  • Assist VP with travel arrangements and prepare expense reports
  • Responsible for records management of all development related documents (Zoning, Platting, Surveys, Approvals etc.) on the shared drive.
  • Assist in land management duties associated with Tochi, proprietary internal software system
  • Assist project team with plat facilitation and obtaining bonds from home office
  • Assist project team in tracking various performance and maintenance bonds
  • Serve on various POA, HOA and CDD Boards as a developer representative if/as needed (note: several of these meetings occur after normal business hours).
  • Assist VP in commercial contract facilitation and coordinate comments, edits, and submittal for internal approval
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all commercial contracts including key milestones and requirements by all parties
  • Monitors all commercial parcel closings and assists with scheduling as needed
  • Coordinate signatures on important documents such as Deeds, HUDs, contracts and distributes to appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform duties of a Notary as needed

     

Must Haves

  • Knowledge of land development, home building, contract processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong Administrative and Computer Skills
  • Record of success in fast paced work environment
  • Proficient in MS Windows, MS Word, MS Project, Adobe Photoshop/Bluebeam, on-line database applications
  • Ability to prioritize and solve problems independently and within a group setting 
  • Ability to organize and multi-task
  • Positive attitude and the desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Some local travel required
  • Position may support more than one project and will require the ability to conduct work in an office environment as well as construction site locations

 

Nice to Haves

  • College degree preferred – preferably in Business Management, Construction Management, Communications, or Engineering
  • 3+ years of land development, residential construction, homebuilding, or commercial construction related experience ideal
  • Current Notary status or willingness to acquire and maintain status
